MEANING AND SCOPE:

ELOT 1427 establishes the requirements for the assessment of tourism businesses, their classification and labeling of quality.

ELOT 1427 aims to support tourism businesses to achieve and improve their business goals by combining the value of Greek hospitality and customer service to the preservation and promotion of natural and cultural resources of the areas involved.

The signal quality can be used by tourism businesses who wish to integrate into regional and local projects celebrating local attributes of service quality.

After labeling of the Quality Body of the tourist business has a right to use in all promotional activities and sites.

ELOT 1427 applies to all tourism businesses of all sizes, including:

  • Hotel accommodation of all types
  • Business catering
  • Travel Agencies – Agencies
  • Public and private transport

GENERAL APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:

The requirements of ELOT 1427 based on the following principles

  • Sustainable tourism development (respect for the natural environment, reduce pollution, save energy, etc.)
  • Protection and enhancement of historical and cultural identity
  • Principles of quality management (focus on improving service)
  • Corporate social responsibility (compliance with laws and regulations, support the local economy, etc.)
